fast85_gt Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 my old head unit is 2 volts preouts my new one has 4v peramp outs do i need to redo my gains they were set with a dmm with my old jvc they are set the same as with the 2v cd player but the new one with 4v outs is way louder but i dont here any clipping or smell coils getting warm so should i just leave it the way it is thanks any help please Quote

thehoe92 Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) technically it won't be louder since the gain will be set for 4v. it will put less stress on the amp and your electrical because you aren't having to crank the gain.
