If you know what you are doing and can hear a sub distorting all to hell and don't turn it down, then of course it will eventually fry. It amazes me how many cars I pull up next to at stop lights and this horribly distorted bass is coming out and they just sit there. I just want to jump out and say hey dumb ass, can't you hear your system sounds like shit? Too many people trying to make a whimpy system sound like a giant one and they blow shit up. Theyre set so if for some reason my sister drives my car, which never happens but just in case, if she cranks it to full blast its still a clean signal. I couldnt believe when i tried to find the max unclipped level on my hu using an o scope, i had it turned to 50/50 and it was still a clean signal. He also thinks Hifonics amps are the tits. He made a claim that the 12w6 subwoofer has never been blown by anyone. I called BS, he got sentenced today for some stupid shit he did in the past and i wont see him for a few years, but it made me wonder if this was a valid claim. i own a pair of 13w3's and a hifonics bxi1610, and they go together like fat kids and cake. only problem i'm having is that amp overheats quickly. you gotta mount it in a well ventilated area of your car. i have to run my a/c in the back just to keep it from going into thermal protection. other than that, its all good Quote Corporal, USMC Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
