Wiring Sub Enclosure

I keep seeing alot of pics on here with the speaker terminals on the box looking like a nut and bolt. What is this and what are you using? I like the idea, especially for its sealing ability. I know there is probably a thread on here already, so maybe someone can just refer me. I did look for it though. It looks like some are brass and some are regular steel. Which is better?

Yep just a simple nut, bolt and washers.

if you can get brass or copper then its better for conductivity (correct me if im wrong). i think they might be more expensive but i have regular steel bolts and they work fine.

If you want to do it "official" get two firewall pass throughs. Not to much maybe $5 bucks but they will do the job and its made for wiring.

Regular steel bolts are a pretty crappy conductor, actually.

For someone who needs to constantly wire and rewire his subs to different amp configurations the bolt idea works. But for the best power delivery and lowest resistance just drill a hole and pass the wire through. The least number of connections in the electrical path the better.

And dont forget to caulk around the wires!

Thats the way i went but its more aesthetically pleasing with the wire lugs.
