Slapuhho Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) Heavyweights FTW! Edit: This is what it says Chode From this equation, we learn that if one sound pressure level is twice another, it is 6 dB greater; humans perceive SPL subjectively, but as a general rule, a sound that is 6 dB higher in level is perceived to be about twice as loud. loburbon Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 My subs are dual 2's im running my amp at .5 ohm. I need 2 seperate boxes or they wont fit in my trunk the opening and i dont want to build in cuz them its pretty much permanent at that point.im buying a second 3000.1 for comps so each amp will be at 1 ohm on one alpha each for metering, i will just run one for daily. i guess im happy with it it just does not meter well andit makes no sence to me. it sounds way louder than my old setup was but its only 2 db more on the meter? honestly it sounds like your stuck on what you got. the alphas get plenty loud. so if you build a good box you will get louder. you just gotta suckit up and do it Quote 2000 gmc yukon 4 sundown Zv3 15's 4 dd m2a's kenwood kdc-x994 2 batcap 4000's 1 batcap 2000 dual alts. 154@37hz and climbing http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3231683 http://www.myspace.com/torque150
skittlesRgood Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 in the last video, the subs dont seem to be moving much. maybe you have them wired wrong or your tuning is off. you might not be getting the power to them that you think you are. and remember, wiring is one of those things that everyone is always POSITIVE they did correctly and 60% of the time, it was wrong. just double check wiring and your gains. study up if you need a better idea on how to do it. it might be that simple, and its free. skittlesRgood Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 oh, also, you should have 12-16 square inches of port area per cubic foot. you have a LOT more than that. loburbon Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 for daily. no. at the most he should have for daily is 80. even then thats prolly to much. now if he had a wall with ass loads of airspace and only did burps and no music. then it would be fine Quote 2000 gmc yukon 4 sundown Zv3 15's 4 dd m2a's kenwood kdc-x994 2 batcap 4000's 1 batcap 2000 dual alts. 154@37hz and climbing http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3231683 http://www.myspace.com/torque150
Mendonmafia Posted July 29, 2009 Author Report Posted July 29, 2009 thanks for the tips guys im just goling to doa few tweaks of my own and ill let you know if i gain next month. 1)Im going to add 45's in the corners 2) 45 in the port bend 3) line the walls with poly fill 4) completely seal the subs to the cabin 5) essentially flush mount the woofers, when the beauty panel is in and the subs are pushed up tight to it they will be completely sealed and flush mounted. i can put the ports to the outsides of the car instead of the center if it will help me gain? If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:
