Torres Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 i dont think that port is going to effectively act as a 40 sq inch port with the opening on the inside of the box being smaller than the outside of the opening. and a tip when glassing....if you take the matting, and tear it apart rather than cutting, it allows for a cleaner layup. the edges blend together better. also, take the matting and pull the layers apart (may be hard to do if it's lower grade mat) this will allow for a cleaner layup as well. and fewer bubbles as well as conforming to tricky edges/bends. just for future reference but it's looking good so far! and that last pic....you're not gonna be from 'jack-his-car-he-aint-got-no-alarm-ville' anymore are ya?

Well, I still live here, but I know my car isn't gonna get jacked. I wonder if it's possible to get a better pic and make it into a sticker? If all goes well, I will have my new electric train horns ordered on monday. I know a guy who has the same ones I'm ordering and they are loud. Of course, he does have 5... I don't quite understand about the port thing. The 10"x4" is inside dimensions and will be the same all the way through. Thanks for the advice. I only found 1 air bubble in the entire thing. I'm about to grind it down and put down 1 more layer. I only have enough mat left for 1 more layer and the place I normally buy from is out. I'm gonna look for some more tomorrow. Oh, and it is some cheap mat, but it's pretty strong. There's only one place that didn't set up correctly for some reason... But I have some bracing to be going in that area. 1992Chevy K1500 Posted August 31, 2009 Author Report Posted August 31, 2009 So I haven't got much done. I've been saving for a DC LVL4 15" sub! Plus I've been sick. I've been mostley getting miscellaneous stuff done. I'm almost through with the new dome light on the interior. I've switched to LEDs. I used white for when the door is open, and blue on a switch. It looks killer, but I need a relay. The light uses a negative ground, so the way plugged the wires in means the light is always on. That's gotta be fixed. I'll try and get some pics of the light tonight. Thanks for all the comments and encouragement. I have yet to order the horns, but I hope to soon. Oh, and thanks to Chode, I now have a new name.
