Building a first box, need ideas

Recommended Posts

Alright well I have an 03 Chevy tahoe. with 2 12" pioneer TS-w308d4's and they arent nothing special so i plan on getting two DD 3500 12s eventually. Now i want to build a vent port box that will be mainly built for the DDs but wouldnt sound awful with the pioneers in them. I want to make the box 48" wide which is alittle shorter then the width of the trunk. and about 24ish"deep and about 16" high. so i was just wondering how i should port it(a port on each side, one big port on one side or whatever). If anyone could draw something out for me that would be very nice. Thanks any help would be appreciated

i dont know how much port area the pioneers call for, but the dd subs call for massive port area. and they are picky. so that may not be the best idea

Even with having almost 17 in sq of port per cube that box would be way too big even after bracing im assuming. Thats closer to a 6.5 cube box. Im assuming that is way too big for those 12s.

woman..cant live with em...cant shoot em...guess were all fucked

You might be a Redneck if you use your leftover gutters for a speaker box port...

Dont make the one to the specs you listed for your dimmensions. like i said, with the dimmensions you gave that box is WAY too big. Those pioneers will not be happy

14H x 48w x 15D and alot of port and that will get you close to 4 cubes tuned around 35

ok but still leaves the question. How am i running the port? I was think just have it on the right side and running a vent from the other side to it(if that makes sense). Or port it in the middle? suggestions please. if anyone can just draw there ideas out on with like paint that would help alot.
