98crewcab
Ok, so getting things going and have a few questions. I currently have 4 type r 12's, basically, 2 in each enclosure (2 combined enclosures) Each enclosure is 3.531 cuft internal, with 43.75 square incehes of port tuned to 38 hz. I inverted the subs to gain that .25 of internal space and liked the difference. My first question....Would adding poly fill help even more? 2nd........would lengthening my ports help lower my hz? And now getting away from the subs, I am running (4 pairs of componants, and 4 pairs of coax) 6.5 polk audios. Can the crossovers handle 2 6.5's and 2 tweets each, or do I have to run a crossover per each one? just trying to save some space, will have crossovers out the a--. And one last noob question, 1 6.5 speaker, with 1 tweeter, still 4 ohms? And if so, can I wire 2 6.5's with 2 tweeters to a 2 ohm load through 1 crossover to amp? Thanks tons for any input....will have build log soon. dont want to bore people waiting for me to get all my parts : Quote 06 2500hd, 6.0L, 4l80e, 4wd, (muah work truck) 7" BDS HC lift kit (5) 37x13.5R18 Toyo Open Country M/Ts (5) 18x10 Moto Metal MO962 tablet in lieu of deck blue tooth interconnect to soundstream eq (for volume control and bass control) 4 Alpine type r 10's 6 cubes net, 80sqin's port, tuned to 33hz 2 brutus brx5000.5's 2 pairs 3" polk audio for a pillars 4 pairs polk audio 6.5 comps 1 pair 8" polk audio for mids 2 xspower d3400 batteries.....learning alot from meade and his circle of some of the baddest installers ive seen- thanks guys, for not being so cocky and posting the way it should be done!P.S. BEllithorpe04
cant wait to see this. ive heard poly fill works better in sealed boxes and fiberglass enclosures, and as for the components idk if they can go down to 2 ohm or not, and idk about the crossovers but i would think as long as the crossovers got enough power to push 2 sets of components on one they should work, but i could be wrong. this is gonna be tits when you put up pics! creyc
Run one crossover per set or you will burn up the crossover. Alternatively you can run either an active compatible head deck or a multi channel amp with full HPF/LPF and run 3-way active and ditch the crossovers altogether.
