However i just read something about if you are useing a lot of power you should make your box smaller. Well ill be running 3k rms on my level 5 and i was wanting to go 8 cubes tuned to 34hz with 160 sq in of port. Is that too much box space or port space? I do plan on upgrading the amps after a few months, but for now ill be running around 3k sold everything

EricR Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 yea you don't need 8 cubes. probably 7 would be plenty with 3k watts. i would email rusty and he would be able to tell you himself. i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

Lord Baccus Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 3000watts is not a lot of power... is the DC Level 5 a 3" coil ??? dvc ??? quad ??? if so then ya cut the boxx down too 6cf if its a 4" coil put more power on it >= im pushing 2x Sundown Audio 3000d amps ( strapped ) 6k+ to my 18" and it loves it :hairtrick: just a suggestion but check out http://www.pwkdesigns.com/
