Hobby's 2004 Silverado Ex Cab

Recommended Posts

I run 6 layers down the center of my roof and 3-4 down the sides (Secondskin), wood shims to fill the gaps between the braces and the roof, plus GreatStuff. My roof used to wang, now it still moves, but maybe 1/5th as much.

I think thats the weight method lol. With 150 lbs of deadner it cant move as much :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Its cold and seems to be raining, sleeting or snowing most days lately but I have been working on the truck. Im trying hard to have the kicks and the beats up and running for the Feb 13th Pulse show.

If you show up you can have a demo you old fart. I haven't seen you the last couple of shows Trippi.

So here is what I have going on now. I needed to move stuff around to accommodate both Soundigital 8K's. I rebuilt the base again. Moved the batteries again. Fabricated a custom buss bar for the SD's. Threw some new paint on the setup and sprayed a big new team name on the box.

OK so I made this to hold my batteries. I had to put the wood frame that way around the sheet metal. At the bottom of the tray the wood would run into the drive shaft hump and raise the tray. A little something different here with some sheet metal added into the mix.

Then I needed some buss bars and a fuse block. Let the aluminum work begin. This is all 2x2 angle stock 1/4" thick. I ripped down one side to keep it from hanging down and hitting the tray. There is no room under the box. The top of the battery studs will be 1/16th of an inch off the bottom of the sub box when its installed.
