advice on some serious bs?

Man that does suck. In case you are ever in that situation again, here are some points to remember. Why is the cop asking you questions at all? To get evidence. He didn't have enough to give you a ticket, so he asks questions, tries to look in your trunk, etc to build up more evidence and build a case to give you a ticket. If he could have went in your trunk without asking for your permission then he would have. Do not cooperate with their investigation at all. I'm not saying be a dick and a smart ass, just don't serve up their evidence on a silver platter by admitting anything. Always be polite, and most important be quiet. Remember, you have the right to remain silent. Use it. You will not get into any trouble at all by remaining silent. That is a constitutionally protected right. Better luck next time dude.

yeah i told him i wouldnt let him see the trunk, but then he stated that i can give him the keys or he can take them from me. so i figured id rather hand them to him instead of him ripping me out of the car and tearing them out of my hands or whatever it may have led to. thanks for the advice though.

If a police officer has probable cause to pull you over. He then has probable cause to search your car without a warrent. So he was right you didn't have to give him the keys. Even being a lawyer if a cop has enough cause to pull you over he has enough to write you a ticket if he wants to. This is why it is always in your benefit to be honest and polite.

again, he said give them to him, or he will take them. i didnt want to start anything physical with a cop because we all know thats bad news bears. so i handed the keys over, and he popped the trunk.

Like Onesuv said honesty is key, My brother is police officer and I can tell you from the advice given to me (I speed alot!) to be honest and open and polite, there human beings doing there job and when people treat them as if there the enemy well good luck with that! To the OP You won't win in any court even with a lawyer

yeah i didnt realy think i could do anything about it. i was just wondering if anyone had any stories of saying a bunch of bs in court to get it dismissed. i think i should have been more clear in my title, everyone seems to be misinterpreting it. the "bs" i was speaking of in the title was more of the fact that i got my car towed away for a sound violation, and that it all costed 300 dollars, not because i got caught and couldnt get away with it. i realize that by blaring my shit im always going to be taking a chance of getting pulled over and ticketed. i just thought the overall punishment was quite severe for playin a sub...

My whole opinion on the whole your stereo is too loud is just stupid. i live in a town full of rednecks.. all of them have cut off exhausts on there trucks ill be driving by with my system bumpin windows up so its not as loud on the outside. mean while a truck drived by and over my system i can here and feel there exhaust system,,yet i get pulled over.. And the whole 50 ft rule is bogus. how can a cop determine if its too loud just by being able to here it, you can hear a dog barking, a car starting, tons of other things from 50 ft away. they use a radar gun to catch speeders, i think they should have to have a db meter before they could actually give you a ticket, but then they would realize how much stuff is actually over that 70 or 100db they say is too loud.

all that said dont blast music in an area where you know everyones gonna hear and your just wanting to show off. that being said we all do that anyway so atleast dont do it everytime you get in your car.

also, you said the cop said he used to compete, youd figure if he did, and was a good competitor he would of been alot cooler about things than he was. or maybe he just lost alot and holds a grudge against ppl who are louder.

but one thing i can tell you, judges are too lazy to listen to a physics lesson on why you are right and how there is now real proof it was you. i had a friend that tried to pull a "coefficient of friction" between a tire and the icy road on that exact day to show whether he really was driving too fast for conditions. But physics wont hold anything in court unless its a major major thing, it would maybe even take a jury instead of a judge, to actually listen to a case against a cop

you guys can just close the thread. i never thought just asking if there was any way i could make up some bs to avoid a 300 dollar fine would bring such negative replies. its too bad i have to get negative feedback instead of people just simply answering my questions. but thank you to those that offered advice and actually answered my questions. i appreciate it.

edit - oh wait, you HAVE to go to court for this... ya the cop will show up. your screwed. just show how sorry you are and admit you were an ass when he pulled you over. kill them with kindness and maybe they will be nice.
