newb Posted August 21, 2009 Report Share Posted August 21, 2009 can someone please tell me if the impedence load changes anything?? like if you had 2 of the same setups, 1 is 1 ohm the other is 4 ohm, same power on the 4 ohm as the 1 ohm would there be any difference in the 2? Team_DC-Derrick Posted August 21, 2009 Report Share Posted August 21, 2009 so lets say you got a amp that makes 1000 rms at 1 ohm, and a amp that makes 1000 rms at 4 ohms, and have a sub that is wired down to 1 ohm on the 1 ohm amp, for 1000 rms, and a sub that is wired to a 4 ohm load on the 1000 rms 4ohm amp well, the 4 ohm amp would run smoother and not get as hot as fast since its not running as heavy a load as it does with the 1 ohm. Im just assuming tho.. some one with more technical skills can chime in tho *edit 4 ohm load will draw less current as well..
