Whitey
do you like thoese subs cause my friend has these in a tacoma and there ok he wishes he saved $20 more to buy a orion xtrpro I have not yet used this newer model, I had a single '07 model all this past year, and it really took a beating from my 312w RMS D-class Infinity.......the newer model (TS-W308D4) has a couple new materials, 4 layer surround, 3 layer coils, better, more rigid cone design, etc... I really do like these drivers, I mean, they are not by any means a true SPL driver, but 400w RMS for less than a $199.99 MSRP, is a good deal. However, I haven't had a chance to compare them with anything else either. Though, I am a huge Pioneer fan, mostly because of their innovation, not only in Mobile Audio, but in all aspects... have you ever seen a Pioneer CDJ 1000 MK III? Google/you tube it. My last two head unit's have been Pioneer's. I'd like to go dvd/touch screen in the future..... not sure what brand.... a CA&E comparison would be worth the read. Here's today's progress..... Mock-up / fitting It's nice to see it coming together. - '97 Civic - Pioneer DEH-4800MP 2 x Infinity Reference 311a 2 x Pioneer TS-W308D4 Pioneer TS-G1340R Mids Audiobahn Highs * - My Current Build Thread - * Throwing systems together since 1998. Hellbound Train
Great work. Definitely not bad for a small build. Its good that you are taking the time on the enclosures and designing it all to make the most of your space.
Whitey
Great work. Definitely not bad for a small build. Its good that you are taking the time on the enclosures and designing it all to make the most of your space. Thanks, appreciated. With such a small space, and budget to work with I spent alot of time sitting around, measuring up, and looking at different ideas. The build started around wanting to face the two drivers toward each other.......and retaining the use of a temporary spare, as this car is a commuter / daily driver, and leaving it on the side of the road in the event of a flat, is not an option. The end result will hopefully deliver what I expect, and that's 'bang for my buck'. Although I have been messing with mobile audio for over ten years, this is my first real custom build, and these two enclosures are only the third and fourth boxes I have ever made myself. Plenty of work to go, thanks for the comments / support. - '97 Civic - Pioneer DEH-4800MP 2 x Infinity Reference 311a 2 x Pioneer TS-W308D4 Pioneer TS-G1340R Mids Audiobahn Highs * - My Current Build Thread - * Throwing systems together since 1998.
