Drilling An Amp To Your Box

Recommended Posts

the vibration can damage the internals of the amp.

i would mount it somewhere else unless you wanna be buying a new amp :)

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

ive read in a lot of places that mounting the amp to your box will kill it.

ive had my amp (PA a3000db) mounted on the back of my current box and the back of the box with the 15's. no problems. i believe i got it last summer but im not sure. point is it has taken a beating and no issues

^^^touch the amp while its pounding and see if you feel vibrations. if you do then its not good.

to the OP: its gonna vibrate anywhere inside of the car. as long as your box is solid it will be fine.

i use rubber spacers under the mounts of my amps everywhere i mount them just to be safe though
