my newest box (beginnin sketches)

Straight port, 18.65" base:

Here's the model with the port slanted (18.65" port base):

And here's another with a longer port base which retains the same port area as the original box model:

The point of making the port longer (lengthened to 21.5" on the bottom) was to maintain the original port area of 299 in. I'm not sure, but I believe this will let it retain it's original tuning frequency. If there are any experienced or more knowledgeable box builders out there, can you shed some light on this mystery?

I definitely like it better with the longer port...I just dont know if it would hold its tuning freq...to be honest though, the difference between the 2 would be either 36-38 hz which I would be fine with...btw, thanks alot for the help man!

No problem! I'm actually starting to get the hang of box designs and I'm really enjoying helping people out with their models. Thanks for all the feedback! I can't wait to see pics of this thing built and pounding. I'm excited, and it's not even my box!

done with the plans of this box! theres a catch tho...I have 4 days to build it haha...

only difference is I want the port on the opposite side...the ring around the sub is gonna be glassed and painted titanium...box will be satin black

and Im also gonna attempt to finish this during those 4 days too...

its a fan setup I wanna mount to the trunk lid...will also be glassed...the outer fans will take air in and middle ones will blow out @ the amp...
