SmokeyDog Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 going to make a new sub encloser. woundering where to start. thought about a box to the back of the trunk and a box in the sparetire holder. both sealed. or ported not sure. or a really big sq box. i am going to be running 4 kicker 12'' dual voice coil 2 ohms i wounder if the subs pointing troweds the top with a port going to the front of the car behind the seats. (need to keep back seat wife would kill me if i took it out, mad enough that theres no trunk now) would sound the same ,and/or give as much bass as subs pointing to back. how much clearence should there be for the subs at the top. between the roof and the top of the subs. is the bigger the box the better? any imput would be great thanks ~2006 chrysler Sebring~ ~2 runs of 1/0 front to back~ ~1/0 wire for "big 3"~ ------------------------------------------------------- 4 spl-hx 12'' dual 2 2 dtr 1.3400 3 c&d terminologies 1000s 100 aH Each piccso 6.5 comps pinoeer avh 4900dvd pioneer xm box blue gauges custom dave the box guys box ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ new stuff on the way Team Soundstream
AI James Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 4 12s and sq in the same sentence what do you have in front to keep up with these subs
Guest Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 if you want SQ, dont make 2 different sized boxes. what kicker subs are they. they make like 15 different 12's and x2 on the 4 12's and sq in the same sentence...thats hard to accomplish a 4th order box would sound the best for SQ purposes imo.

SmokeyDog Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 i meant front stage not to sure on what you mean but i am guess the the speakers up front? there are two 6.5 mids going in, with 1 inch tweets(to be installed, with amp apropated) ,and 6x9s in the rear, with i belive 6 inch 3 or 4 ways in the door. i really just interrested in bass, deep car shaken bass. have built sealed boxes before. but one getto ported, before i ripped everthing out i had the 4 12s in already. a kicker enlcoser ported, and a sealed sparetire encloser. sound good had some bass, but not enought. changed the sparetire encloser after reading this form, instead of laying flat, i cut the down the middle of the box and rasied up the middle 4 inches. on each side and put a flat spot in the middle of the subs. raised the sparetire and other enlcoser 3''. add to what i belive was an added 1cbft. i also added a port, about 2inches high and 15 long and 10 deep. i dident tune the box was just playing around for ideas. it hit real low and shaked a lil with just the two 12s, but was very sloppy in my opinun. the other thing was if i ran just the sparetire encloser with the trunk shut it really sounded like shit. but if i would pop the trunk with the buttton in the dash, the bass got deeper and better, anyone know why? ~2006 chrysler Sebring~ ~2 runs of 1/0 front to back~ ~1/0 wire for "big 3"~ ------------------------------------------------------- 4 spl-hx 12'' dual 2 2 dtr 1.3400 3 c&d terminologies 1000s 100 aH Each piccso 6.5 comps pinoeer avh 4900dvd pioneer xm box blue gauges custom dave the box guys box ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ new stuff on the way Team Soundstream
