Its been hooked up for a while and it just started acting up. the amp goes green, then it turns orange, then turns red (protection). whats the orange? If the spots that have been cleaned off to ground to (should have been ground down to bare metal) have started to rust and the rust is seeping back to where the ground point is, you will now have a dirty ground and a high resistance issue starting up. Guest Posted September 9, 2009 Report Share Posted September 9, 2009 run the amp w/o rca's. pull out the power wire to see if it melted or split anywhere. just because it didnt happen over a year, doesnt mean it cant still happen. check fuses. check for wire bridging + and - or remote and -. a single copper wire can cause a short.
