A while back one of the guys was asking about flat paints and I had told them I just bought some. A lot of people were interested in the thread so since I just sprayed some I thought I'd start a little build log. Everyone on here is a bunch of picture whores (as am I!) so I wanted to make sure I was halfway through before starting the thread!

Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!

This is what we started with, 1997 S600

A little prep work, of course I found WAY more dents then I thought I would

Next comes primer for the dented areas that were taken to metal

Test fitting the bumper after paint ( I painted the bumpers and trim first)

In the booth getting ready!!!!!

And after 3 coats of Hot rod Flatz!!

And in the sun after baking overnight

Obviously I still have a lot of work to do to complete and I use a local community college to paint because I don't have a booth at home!! Next step is to paint all the chrome trim in flat black and then the hood roof and trunk in the same flat Black.

What do you think!?!?

Looking good so far, I seen one of these with an orange pearl hood/top/trunk and white pearl sides with rims that had orange pearl spokes.

That sounds crazy! I was going to shoot candy but this is much simpler. Not 100% positive I'm ready to do candy just yet! Too bad no pic cuz I would love to see that!

A little progress, got the chrome pieces primered and ready to paint. Hoping to get the rest of the painting completed by tomorrow.

Primered! Got a little orange peel since it was so hot but I'll get that with a little sandpaper.

Me too man, with this thing, work, and 3 kids I'm tired as hell. After this I still have a lowrider I've been working on AND I gotta re do the sounds in this one. Only hits low 130's and I know with a Zapco 9.0 and 2 12 MTX 9500's I can do more!
