finkster
Hey guys, I just ran Some 2 gage wire to a phoenix gold octane r 15.0:1...Its a mono amp capable of 1000 rms @ 2 ohms...For now only 1 kicker L7 is gonna be wired to it...but somewhere in the near future I'm throwing in another L7 and putting another 15.0:1 amp in beside it...Thats why i went so big on the power wire...But my question is that will it be too big a wire for just one amp at that little power for now? Chris
You can never have too big of a power wire for any setup. You can have a wire as thick as a 2 liter bottle as far as anyone's concerned, just make sure you can find a reducer or terminal to connect it to your amp with. Actually, depending on the fuse rating/current draw when you have both 1000watt rms amps hooked up, I'd upgrade to 1/0 gauge wire for optimal flow of those electronic juices!
