Tek Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Ok so basically heres my problem. I have my subs hooked up and all that good shit. The only problem, when my radio is on and the volume is off, you can hear a sort of quiet but consistent mumble coming from the subs. My friend's brother told me it was an interference, but does this mean I have to rewire the whole damn set up now? And before, when I had a stock radio, I could just be driving down the street with the radio off and the subs would just start POUNDING and wouldnt stop unless I unplugged the amp. I mean, it seems like it WOULD be an interference but what would the best idea be for a fix?
kanes_disciple Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 What you got there is engine or ground noise. I would first start off by checking the ground for your amp, is it grounded to a bolt that runs to the chasis or is there paint on the bolt or where the wire touches? I would ask the same question in a different forum also, but your problem just needs to be troubleshooted and you should be able to figure it out. As far as your subs jumping I would check the rca's and make sure there not touching each other and or any other wires. Tek Posted September 17, 2009 Author Report Posted September 17, 2009 they dont do the hard pounding anymore, just the mumble. It's not a big deal, just an annoyance.
kanes_disciple Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 How did you run your power wire, remote and RCA's? Your power wire needs to run by itself to the back of your vehicle. Dont run it next to your RCA's, remote or any speaker wires. As far as your subs mumbling I have no idea on that one man! Hope this helps ya!
