bobo333
hey guys, heres underbonnet wiring part 2... mmm ring terminals... think this should be enough? i did the big 3 in some left over 75mm welders flex, cept it kinda turned into a big 4 lol... batt - to chassis, batt - to engine, engine to chassis, and alt + to batt +, i then got some aluminium plate and some allen headed bolts and made up a couple of lil buss bars for all the cables... the spare bolts are for the second, and possibly third alts when i can find a place to put them... speaking of alts: they are only 100a stockers but id much rather try to jam lots of these in at $36 a piece than big aftermarket ones at $600+ a piece... thats about all for today, thanks for lookin! ^^^ clicky pics for build logs ^^^
bobo333
wow havnt updated here in a while lol... since my last update the cars been through a few upgardes and temporary installs while saving for the 16x 10s... heres a quick overiew: in went my new head unit: Alpine CDA 9887 with ipod cable and remote i got some front stage amps: Schneider PER9504, one was for each front door but ive changed my mind since then... then some new rims: 17x8 Holden Special Vehicles GTS (factory wheels off a higher model than mine) and a temporary sub stage for a comp that came up (2 sony xplod 10" in 4 cubes at 35hz running off an 800wrms response monoblock) that setup got 135.4db at 42hz then i upgraded to 4 Fusion 10" mounted isobaric in the same box as the sonys, and added a new amp rack: this setup went way louder and lower than the sonys and broke my rear windscreen wiper motor off the bootlid, so i shaved the wiper it wasnt enough though so i built a new square flared port to 30hz... this was much louder and lower again but i havnt got any pics... heres a vid though anyone want more updates? ^^^ clicky pics for build logs ^^^

bobo333
haha ok since you asked so nicely (and coz im bored ) since i still havnt got the 10"s yet and i had some wood laying around i decided to chuck these in instead: they are JBL GTO1502d 15"s that im borrowing off a mate, the first version of this wall i built in a day to demo at the shop i work at during a midnight sale: there was no trim panels and no glue and some big gaps in the top corners but it was pretty loud lol: after i got home from said sale i moved the whole lot up about 50mm to make a big slot port underneath (and seal up the gaps in the top) (the bits of pine are just there to hold it while i screwed it together) anyone wanna vid of how this went? ^^^ clicky pics for build logs ^^^

bobo333
cheers guys, heres a couple of vids of what the non glued/non sealed didgy wall did before it tore itself apart one night (snapped screws, pulled out screws etc) the rebuild then included lots of glue, lots more screws and some pine bracing also some steel angle brackets, and more screws: more glue, more pine: and some foam weather stripping to seal the front to the back more pine between the back of the diamond and the back of the box and some contortionist work by me and voila! strong wall ok thats a few more than 3 pics and a video... who wants more? ^^^ clicky pics for build logs ^^^
