So im trying to learn how to better design boxes on my own & I was wondering what vent mach was. Do you want it high or low? & is it related to port noise?

Current System:

Pioneer 6900 HU

Front Stage: (for now)

Soundstream tarantula 5.25 in the doors

Soundstream tarantula 4x6 in the dash

Kenwood 400.4 for mids & highs

Bass:

4 Soundstream RW-12's

2 Power Acoustik Stax 4000/1D's

single chamber box, 2.65 cubes.

Currently under the knife being bagged

too much port air velocity = port noise. thats the only correlation i know between the 2...

So would you be saying that less vent mach would be a better thing? iv been playing on WinISD & I have 2 different boxes I might build, but can only really afford one at a time. One has .16, the other has .08, in your opinion which would be a better box?
