To Port..?

I am soon going to make my first box, it will have 4-6 12" Hifonics HFi's in it. Just something to keep me out of trouble. I don't know about this whole tuning shit though. I found some port tubes for sale on ebay and they are "trim-able for custom tuning" but I don't know what would sound the best, or how short to cut them. I planned on making the subs and ports both face upward in the back hatch of my car.

you have some reading to do

basically the box is a giant tuned instrument, and the volume in the box, compared in ratio to the square inches of the port and its length determine tuning

round ports are great, but you can use cheap ass pvc for that instead of getting them off e-bay

partsexpress.com or darvex.com, i dont remember which one, sells the aero's fro the end if you want them

post up the dimensions of the car and the specs of the sub and i'm sure someone could help you with a design

If its your 1st box I would reccomend a tuning calculater with a slot port,

The only thing this calc doesnt account for is speaker displacment so you need to adjust it after you add up the displacments
