Bluebrindle
either 6 lvl4 12's or 4 lvl4 12 xl's i,ve got 2 sundown 3500's to play with i think i,m going to do 6 lvl4's but whats your opinions on the xl's ? i want to tune to maybe 30-32 and i want it to drop. are the xl'x a good streetbass/groundpound/sql sub? do you guys think either of the above will push a lot more air than the 2 lvl5 15's i have off 4k? i want hard hairtricks, i do them off the 4k but i wouldnt say they were near savage. i have used a lvl4 12 before and while it wasnt as loud as a lvl4 15 off the same power it still was loud, so i,m hoping that 6 of them will have quite a bit more output than 2 lvl5 15's - its actually near as dammit double the cone area Edited September 27, 2009 by Bluebrindle
EricR
how much air space do you have? i'd do 4 lvl4xl 15's Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? 1992Chevy K1500
With the choices the OP gave, I'd go with the 6 LVL4 12"s. More cone area = more power. But if you can fit them, 4 LVL4 XL 15"s. They would have the most cone area. raytard
i <3 the xl's they definately drop, and my box is tuned to right about 30hz and they dont mind dropping down into the 20's, and theres no hairtrick like a 26hz hairtrick. they definately streetbeat or groundpound or whatever you want to call it. and 4 15's ftmfw Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
Bluebrindle
i would love 4 15's but i just don't have the baffle space , i have a max of 41.5 wide x 28 deep. so its never going to happen with 6 12's i,m gonna have 1.7 cu ft for each sub and can tune to 30hz in your opinions will that move more air than what i already have?
