newls1
Beside the eclipse MK7xxxx HU that has NO built in amp, are there any others out there that DO NOT have built in amps? I have searched and searched, and can't find anything besides that eclipse unit. Looking to not spend anywhere near that eclipse price...... 01xtreme
Only ones I remember seeing without amps were some Alpine units from WAY back in the day. Why are you looking for one without an internal amp? Cr@sh
I have a clarion pro from the 90's and two alpines. Also they use burr brown crystals for the D.A.C's which makes cd playback incredible. I could have sworn all the big manufactorer's still make them though. newls1
you would think companies would produce HU's without these built in amps, would be cheaper to produce, and cheaper (in theory) for the consumer to buy. No reason for me to have a HU with a built in amp, when I have everything externally amped........... 01xtreme
less heat!! touche, but most HU's have a way of turning the internal amp off if you're not using it. I know my old alpine 9813 had a "power IC" option on the menu that would turn off the internal amp Quote My System: Pioneer AVH-P3200BT 4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors) 8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash) 1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs) 2-18" BTL's (for now) Crescendo 3kwp (for sale) Complete rebuild coming soon...
