setting bass boost

i was just curious if there was a calculated method to setting bass boost or if most people just do it by ear? im going to be running a DC lvl 4 12inch and i was trying to figure out the best way to set boost/ if i should even set it at all?

The best way is using an O-Scope, but the second best way is to use a Multimeter, and there is a guide/chart around here somewhere, I am sure someone will post it up.

Edit: I guess you are talking about Boost and not Amp Gain.

thanks for the fast responses i was just curious im gonna attempt to tune this amp with a dmm also ive never done it before but im pretty sure i know how to after reading up on it a bunch

Its easy ....just get in habit of double checking and triple checking...
