bubinga08 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 I am will be upgrading from a 1500 watts system to 5000 watts system when I get a truck(Toyota Tundra). Question is what all equipment is needed to supply a 5000 watt system efficiently. I'm not worried about the box or speakers right now. I just need a layout such as # of alternators, # of batteries and fuse rating for a the power wire. I don't get how people on this site fuse these 10k systems. Any help will appreciated. Thanks. It's over 9000!!!
andym85 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 daul alts (biggest u can fit), 4 powermaster d3100 batteries, a bunch of 1/0 gague ( which u can fuse with 300amp fuses) i likes me some audio stuff...

Got one more problem. I haven't seen any dual alternator kits for 2000-2003 Toyota Tundras. Also assuming I have one 5000 watt amp how do you put multiple runs of 1/0 gauge and multiple fuses on one amp. Thanks for the help. It's over 9000!!!
andym85 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 email dc alts (they have their own section on here) and ask him about the alt.. as far as fuses and wiring....just do a few runs of wire from the alts and batt up front to the rear battery bank (fuse every run from up front and at the rear with nothing more than a 325 amp fuse if using 1/0 gauge)... and a 5000watt amp probably has dual 1/0 inputs and probably requires a 500 amp external fuse...in which case u could just fuse each input to the amp with a 250 amp fuse... i likes me some audio stuff...
