Measure the width and length (in feet) and multiply them. Then add 20%. To add 20%, just multiply by 1.20. That's the way I do it.

My comp setup (Not bad for what it is):

HP Compaq Presario V6120US laptop with:

15.4" widescreen

AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz processor

2x1GB stick DDR2 SDRAM (667 Mhz)

Seagate Momentus 500GB SATA HDD

128MB shared video memory

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

12 cell Lithium Ion battery (actual battery usage time: 6 hours)

What it does:

k i have the numbers but how do i figure out how much i need?

Re-read my previous post. Just multiply the numbers (make sure they are in feet). Then find whatever kit/pack that is closest to what you need. You may have to buy more than one kit to get close to what you need.

Since when is 20% represented as 1.20? 1.20 is 120%, not 20%. For 20%, it is 0.20

It's not. The 1 represents the orginal amount. The .20 represents the 20%. Say you come up with 36 sq. feet.

36*1.20=43.2

Or the harder way:

36*.2=7.2

7.2+36=43.2

Same answer either way, just the way I mentioned is much easier.

I rounded up on all my numbers as well .. what does adding the 20 % do give you some extra?

Yeah. It'll allow you to overlap in problem areas.
