sdg0080 Posted October 5, 2009 Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 okay, i need help finding an alt for my truck. its on an old ford FE motor. i would prefer a single wire hook up or something else simple. this is a 1973 truck. the only thing electronic on this thing is my MSD por buillit distributor. i have a ton of room to mount an alt or 2 if i really wanted. the only thing i can find is like 100 amp units all chromed out and what not. i need something a bit larger than 100amp the factory on this old girl is only 40 amp. hell my turnsignals slow down when i have the headlights on...so if i have any desire to run anything even a cd player i need a bit bigger. so any help at all would be greatly apreciated... sdg0080 Posted October 5, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 Im sure if u get it rebuilt u can ask them to juice it up and u can still keep ur truck original original isnt a concern...lol i wouldn't think it would be too hard to find a alt that would work. the brackets are really simple on the truck so if i need to change one or both brackets its no big deal. im not sure if any one around here has the ability or rebuild this thing to a high output. well, i have the ability i just dont have the parts. if anyone know of a place where i can order what i need im more than capable of tearing the alt apart and making it work. i just havent seen anything out there over 100amps...
