Excursion means nothing. At close to the tuning frequency of your enclosure the excursion of the woofer will be at a minimum. I can put 4kw on a sub and have it barely move. Not ideal though, they heat up pretty quick when there's no air flowing around them :)

yeah a 250amp alt would do you some justice... im guessing your voltage is proble dropping into the 11's quite easily.... so get ahold of one of the alternator guys... if you go mechman, you can get a nice hefty battery at the same time...

also... try a higher box tuning for numbers.... but dont expect it to do well for daily...

Did you happen to find any box specs for the hcca? I have a 10" and i cant find box specs anywhere

Ok i have one 15" orion hcca hooked up to a kicker zx2500.1 amp. At my last competition i hit 146.13 db. My sub is supposed to have 4" of excursion but its not moving near that much. I know this sub can get louder so can anyone tell some ideas about boxes and amps to make this beast louder...........

That amp should be plenty to get that woofer going
