sdg0080
so what would be a better choice in a multi amp set up? run 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-1bd, or 2 T1000-1bd? they both put out the same power, but the big diff i see is the bass boost settings. i do have a third option i already have a couple T5002 so do i get 2 more? they are going to be pushing 2 Fi bl 18's
Mikesmith0890
it would probably be easier to sell you're t500s and buy a bigger amp. Personally i'd try and snag the new T2500. Personally i'd try and snag the new T2500. true, however i am mounting them into a reg cab truck. if i went with a single large am i'd need to mount it in the bed of the truck, im doing a blow through, and im a bit worried about security. if i use smaller amps i can mount them in the cab of the truck. much harder to steal...that is the only reason im thinking about the smaller amps...i know the t5002 are a couple years old but they can still be bough fairly inexpensive. Mikesmith0890
yeah but honestly, the 4 t500s are going to be larger than the t2500. the t2500 is ~21"x8"x2" and each t5002 is ~2"x12"x18" and then multiply that by 4 (for 4 amplifiers) the 2500 would save you a ton of room Quote AlphaDamp Sound Deadening CDL Mat - The best Vibration Damper Ever! MrSoundz
The T-series also has a better heatsink as well. The RF Power series is no joke. I own the T1500-1BD, T1000-1BD T500-1BD and 2 T400-4 for my 4-Runner and 300zx. They are excellent amps. The T5002 are the size of a house. Power are rated higher for 4ohm and 2ohm, and are MUCH further underrated at 1ohm. also 2 T1000-1bd's will still have a smaller footprint then your T5002. Quote CAUTION! melonhead
Yeah I'd go with the power series as well. The few extra bucks is worth it.
sdg0080
hmmm...i could fit a t2000-1bd. im designing a box right now...if i did 2 ports, one on each side, vs 1 in the center i could mount it between the 2 subs...
