Changing your idle RPM ?

Recommended Posts

Well several thing will happen, not the least of which your brakes likely won't be able to hold the car back (meaning no stopping ever again). Don't do it, 1K is as high as I'd ever go on any vehicle.

My comp setup (Not bad for what it is):

HP Compaq Presario V6120US laptop with:

15.4" widescreen

AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz processor

2x1GB stick DDR2 SDRAM (667 Mhz)

Seagate Momentus 500GB SATA HDD

128MB shared video memory

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

12 cell Lithium Ion battery (actual battery usage time: 6 hours)

What it does:

On a USB 2.0 Wireless card

depends on the vehicle... if its say 96 or newer (obd2) worst idea ever... forget that you even thought about this idea

oh yeah and everytime you put it into gear... it would jump... adding premature wear on all kinds of vital components.... very bad horrible idea... just put your foot on the gas when you need some extra amperage

well, the only reason i asked is because my car idles sometimes at 800-900 RPMs, sometimes (after it has been running for a while) 300-400 RPMs, and sometimes after ive been driving for 10 minutes or so it will idle at either zero or 100 RPMs. I dont really know what the cause of it is and I was wondering what would happen if i changed the idle RPM
