jdmferio13 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 Well as some know i upgraded my alt.Everything has been fine so far.Im just wondering tommorow I am upgrading the power wire to batt to 1/0 guage.My original wire is 10 guage and goes to the fuse box into an 80 amp battery fuse.Now when I do the upgraded wire do i run it straight to the batt and disconnect the other or leave it there.Also should I see any voltage drops with car sitting still at idle with a 200 amp alt and a d3100 in the rear.My batt up front is stock and I have it ran on a crunch gp3000d

J00bles Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 You Can Leave It Hooked Up Along With The 1/0 Wire Won't Hurt its actually recommended to do so. just be sure to fuse it with a 300amp fuse inline from the alt to the battery. be sure to upgrade your grounds to 1/0 aswell, or else you will be restricting your electrical flow and could hurt the wiring. depending on your alt's output at your idle speed, you should still see 100-150amps maybe more. if you're pulling more than that, then its likely you will see voltage drop. seeing as you're pulling 3000 watts or so, you will see some. 3000watts/ 14 volts is roughly 215amps of draw. 8 DC Level 4 M2 15s2 DC Audio 5ks26^2 clamshell tuned to 30hz9 Kinetik 1400sMechman externally reg'd 340 S seriesin a 99 Jeep Cherokee Click to see J00bles' Youtube Channel
