problems with brigdging amp...please help

Recommended Posts

So I think the reason your voltage drops is the extra draw you've created by bridging your amp plz someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't think your amp will do one ohm bridged. If it will, then first thing I would do would be the big 3 to try and get rid on some of the voltage drop. The amp could be shutting down due to lack of enough power but my guess is that your amp wasn't meant to do one ohm bridged.

Briding the same as strapping? If so...this is the one of the specs off of onlinecarstereo that cccmaa posted

"Strapping Capability: Strap Two Amps Together for Twice the Power (2 Ohm Stable)"

The one I posted was an example of why these amps are not good at all. Not the exact amp ranger has.

And no it's not the same as bridged, bridged is done on one amp. When you strap an amp you take two amps that are strappable and make one amp out of them creating more power and also creating a higher required ohm load. Amps that are strappable have a master and slave setting one them and depending which amp is sending or recieving the power from the other would determine which amp would be set to which setting.

Yeah I know what strapping was, never read up on what bridging was, thought it was just a different word haha, but I looked up bridging a few minutes ago and figured out what it was, thanks for clearing it up though!
