Each bulb runs off of one ballast. Don't forget, the higher the Kelvin rating, the LOWER the output. Most car manufacturers use 4300k as it is the brightest on the spectrum. I run a 4300k setup in my civic and they are ridiculously bright.

so ima do 12000k high beams

10000k low beam &

4000k foggers

so do i need ballests for each bulb

or....

If you get bixenon bulbs with built in high/low beam in one bulb, then you will only need 2 ballasts for your highs and lows. (Also depends on your vehicle) Other than that each bulb requires a ballast. And please don't get 12000 kelvin.

I agree I think any thing over 8k-10k is too much

I recommend 6k to people when I install them

1. problems with cops

2. they decrease the light output

3. it turns the road blue/purple

4. they are very distracting to other drivers

You shouldn't really add hid to non projector headlights, but you can put them in your stock, but your not going to have a clean cut off line

And this is not coming from someone who has installed a couple kits, I have personally installed over a hundred in the last year.
