Is this bad

I have an alpine mrp-m1000 amp hooked to 2 alpine type r 12s 2 ohm..and i just learned i have them hooked to 1 ohm and the amp says its not 1 ohm stable..and today if you havent read my other thread..

I drove my car with the bass blasted at times and when i got home it still worked fine then after about an hour (my car was shut off the whole time) i went to do a demo for my friends and when the bass started i got like 1 little beat then nothing..the amp light is still on and the fuse is fine rca's are fine ground is fine power wire is fine..i havent checked my subs but i figured i would know if i blew them..and when i did the demo i didn't turn it any louder than normal but does anyone know what might have happend..i hope it was just like a protection thing or something because when i left school it did it but it worked right after i turned it down to zero and turned it back up..so does anyone know what happened

um, if you type r's they're either dual 2 or dual 4. if theyre dual 2 you can only wire to 2 ohm or .5 ohm. If they're dual 4 its 4 or 1.

Yellow-negative wire

Blue-Positive Wire

Pinkish-Jumper

are the jumpers moving between the middle two terminals on each speaker?

each one should be going from the - on one coil to the + on the other.

Otherwise you only have two coils wired up, hence the 1 ohm load.

They are in the middle i think..i dont remember..its been awhile since i hooked them up

the type R has 4 terminals all right beside each other going like this iirc, - + - +

so you have + from 1 coil going to - on the other coil and the same on the other sub and you hooked up the remaining + and - to the amp.

edit: looks like series/parallel to me.

I would check that, because that woudl be the only reason I could think of that you are seeing a 1 ohm load. That or one sub is disconnected somewhere.

Or there's coils blown.
