treoslapper Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 ok so i have a huge problem which is starting to really bother me. I am having major engine noise problems coming from just my subwoofer. Im running a pioneer head unit with the rca's running down left side of my car and 0 gauge jl wire on right side. from front to the back battery which is a stinger sp1000 battery. The big three is done under the hood and i replaced all my spark plugs and wires under the hood to make sure it wasnt from them. The back battery is grounded with 0 gauge stinger hpm wire to the chassis from the back seat belt buckle with grinded to bare metal. using a buss bar to power the amps which consist of 2 treo rsx1900 amps and one rockford fosgate t-600.2 only the treo amps are hooked up at the moment. the amps turn on fine and work fine and are grounded to the stinger battery but once they turn on i hear major engine noise. also even if i turn the sub control on the headunit the sub still puts out engine noise. i tried running a dry run of rca's and still made the noise.. not sure what to do now please if anyone has any ideas i would like to know. ive heard it could possibly be the pioneer head unit but not sure. any ideas would be helpful. 94' jimmy stock alt, big three stinger sp1000 batt two treo rsx 1900 monoblocks strapped rockford fosgate 600.2 for mids and high focal access components in rear alpine type s front soundstream highs treo ssx 12 dual 1 ohm in 3.3 cube foot box

You need to ground you RCAs like this: It's a common problem with Pioneer HUs. HU: Pioneer Highs: 2X 4X6"s, 2X 3.5"s, 4X 5.25" comps, Q-Logic kicks, and a Sundown SAX-125.2 Subs: 4 Nightshade 15s and Strapped SAZ-3500Ds <---Sundown FTW Electrical: dual DC Power 320s (ordered) and 2 D3400s up frt and 4 D2700s in the back .ʇı ɥʇıʍ ʞɔnɟ ʇ,uɐɔ noʎ 'ʞɔıp ǝɹos ɐ ǝʞı1 sı uʍopunS

Blue_C1500 Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 It will cure your engine noise problem but the sub woofer issue sounds like maybe something isn't set right on the HU. I'd start by doing the ground like in the pic above and see if there are any other problems. I'm pretty sure that will fix all of your problems.
