I went from a crappy lanzar 400watt 15" in a small sealed box run by a crap lanzar vibe 241 amp. Next picked up some Powerbass subs and what do you know, discovered SMD! Built my first box for those 12s, very pleased. Upgraded from 8 gauge to 4, to 0/1 Knu. Big 3. Sold those off and traded the Fusion amp for a BTL. Trade the BTL for a DC lvl 4. Bought a faulty sae1200d which killed my system (HU, SUB (dc lvl4), RCA's, all wires). Won a sae1200d on SMD (Thanks kentb!). Bought an AQ hd3 15" (Should have just bought a z15). I started noticing coil rub. Last night coming home from working out, fuses blow on the amp for some odd reason. Got home, rewired everything, replaced fuses, works now. Today, sub dies. Ohms read 1.9 each but no sound because you can see the coil wires unwound. Anyway, I am sad to say I am out the car audio game for a while. I've spent a lot of money buying/trading, most recently with not reconing the DC and buying the AQ just to have that POS mess up too. I literally have spent what little money I had scurried up just for the love of car audio, inspired by those such as Steve's videos. I can honestly say that my luck has sucked as of late so I'm out the game until who knows. Sorry for the rant and the randomness. Probably just going to sell off my 0/1 and the sae1200d since I can't afford to recone either sub. Sad, sad day. BTW, if you don't care, don't reply, thanks. I had no where to vent so I figure since SMD was the SHIZNIT and my first love (car audio wise) I'd post it here. Thanks people, for everything. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
