audiofanaticz
enclosure is pretty big assuming that's net. AQ2200's or 3500's. Guy on my team runs an AQ3500 of each of his 9518's. They're in 12cubes net... Lies! My new box is 21.75 cubed external, and about 16.5 after sub/port displacement and run 3krms per sub. So by any means a 10 cubed box even if its after sub port displacement is kinda small, especially if he is only looking at 1500wrms per sub. I agree with boon, 2 db-r refurb sundown saz3000s would do nice!! As for amps Sundown DD AudioQue Rockford Fosgate Stetsom All quality amps, that Id trust with DD subs. You want to be sure to give the subs clean output power. Here is my 21.75 cubed box on 1 3000wrms amp @ .37 Daily (gotta break the subs in before full power). Marlo Stanfield
I have 2 15" DigitalDesigns in about a 10Cu.ft. box and i was planning on buying 2 Sundown Audio 1500d's. What are the best kind of amps for DD's? Replys would be greatly appreciated... What kind of electrical setup do u have to handle this sort of power?? You're looking at anywhere from 3000w-7000w+ depending on what you're willing to spend. If you're not gonna have the proper electrical to back it up, then it's a waste of money to get tons of power that you can't support. Also what are the coils?? What motor 9500 do u have?? Not knowing any of those questions and just throwing out suggestions in the general power range - SounDigital 5000.1 American Bass 500.1 (2) Sundown SAZ-3000Ds, refurbs from DB-R or used off the forums I'm running 2 9515gs in my current setup off of 2 AB VFL400.1 @ 1ohm each.. It is a lot of power for them but I am pretty careful and when/how hard I can push them before bad things might start happening. Also having the extra stiff suspension and kevlar cone help handle the power well. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud... DD's rec. box specs actually are a pretty good starting point for a daily setup but by no means are they the end all specs. They also don't account for if you're running power that is much higher than the rated or much lower either, the box size helps raise/lower efficiency to maximize the power you're using. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... Aparently i have competed, and i have 2 first place trophies to prove it, and i've had plenty of loud systems,, but to each his own,, it's not like i paid for them. i can't afford those high price subs, but i also don't like to see someone blowing them up. Marlo Stanfield
I think the OP is gone lol... He only has 2 posts and both in this thread, plus he has yet to answer a single question we've asked regarding his setup. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride...
