2007 tahoe

I just purchased a 2007 Tahoe LTZ. I will be using a Sundown 2000d and a 125.2. I don't compete or anything, it is just a daily driver. I am trying to figure out my battery needs. The vehicle has a 160 amp alternator. It also has a tray for a second battery under the hood. I would really like to keep the battery (or batteries) under the hood. Should I just add another battery to the stock one? Or should I just use a single XS 2400? My ideal situation would be to just add another battery along with the stock one under the hood. I really don't plan on adding any more amplifiers to my system. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, if you dont want any batts in the cab, then run 2 of the biggest batts you can fit under the hood. You really answered your own question in your post though....... Hell, running the 2 batts under the hood would save alot of cost too, less wire length needed..

I guess you're right. I did answer my own question. Let's just say I'll run two batteries up front. I have heard it is not a good idea to run two different battery types together. It would be great if I could just add a 2400 (or similar) and keep my factory battery. Would I just be asking for trouble if I did this?

you "could" do that, but really not beneficial. Personally, a great batt that doesnt cost to much is the DEKA AGM Group 78DT which can be had at o-reilly's auto parts for about 110$. Get 2 of them, and you'll have a pair of great batts. They will fit 100% like the OE batt, but perform MUCH better
