OK, my friend who is waiting for his registration to be reviewed wants to put a system in his car.

It's a 1998 Toyota Corolla.

It's would be his first system. I'm the only person he knows with subs, and all I can recommend are RE subs and Hifonic amps since that's what I got.

So if anyone can suggest a nice daily set up. Maybe 1 12" or 2 10"?

He doesn't know the budget yet, but let's keep it small.

Thanks guys.

RE SE 12" subs (2) in prefab dual ported box (custom box coming soon)

Hifonics bxi610 mono 600 watt amp

Stock HU

Mach RCU

Apline 5 x 7 S Type Speakers (2) (1 blown)

Stock rear speakers (2)

if what all you know is re and hifonics just get a 1610 and a 12 SX and call it done

Well excuse me LOL. I guess that could work. SX higher or lower on the ladder than my SEs?

Well, let's just say $500. Including installation stuff.

I know it won't be the most amazing stuff, but I say I got a pretty good deal for $500.

Does he also need an HU also?? or is the $500 just for sub(s)/amp(s)/enclosure/wiring kit...

15" Alpine Type-R D2($200 approx.) / Audiopipe 1500D@ 1ohm($150 approx.) / Knukoncepts 1/0 wiring kit($75 approx.) / 3.5ft3 @ 34hz, 55in^2 of port.. Wood + screws + glue + sealant($40 approx).

That's prolli the best that you can do for about $500... Truthfully he'll be a good amount louder than you also lol.

He has a headunit which is no fair to me since I don't.

BTW I don't know how to build a box, and he doesn't either. so we are screwed there. I was going to get type R but too many people have them imo.

I'm getting a custom box built, jumping up to 1200 watts, getting a hu, and getting better wire, an amp for my mid high, some comps, and doing the big three. He will only be louder for a little bit. But that's my homie so it's all good.

Thanks Marlo, I think that is pretty good for the money. I'm pretty sure between him and me we can find someone around here who does boxes.
