New, help me with my first setup please.

He is referring to the wires that are run for your speakers power for you amp...etc. Wire is measured in gauges for example 0 gauge is about .5 inches thick and the higher the number of gauge the smaller the wire is...example 12 gauge is a hell of a lot smaller the 0 gauge. A good website that I have always gone to is www.crutchfield.com there is an option under the car audio section called outfit my car. It will tell you exactly how certain radios will fit in the dash and other stuff like that. In most cases they wil include a perfect trim piece and other useful installation accessories. By no means am I saying buy everything from them but it is a good baseline to judge other options off of.

seriously no need to get mad or point any one out just help the guy and lets not correct each let him choose who he wants to get ideas off of and let him follow through with what he chooses its on him not us just help thats all he asked not for each of us to get mad at one another.

you really really do not need speaker wire bigger than 10 gauge 12 gauge and 14 gauge are fairly common as well. 8 gauge is as big as I'd even consider going.

well yeah thats also good to run idk why i said 2 or 4 gauge lol i ment 2 4 gauge running from the engine compartment to the amp lol but 8 or 10 gauge wire running from the amp to the speakers lol my bad.

if that's what you meant than my fault for miscommunication,that's actually fine for decent power.

yeah i am about to upgrade from 4 gauge to 1/0 power wire to get more power flowing yeeah lol.

One question: Will I need to know what subs I'm getting before I make a cardboard box enclosure (because of the measurements or whateva) to see if it fits?

ummmm well do not get dual dual used to be road master and road master is the suckiest audio i had ever heard in my lyfe...
