J Dubb
He is referring to the wires that are run for your speakers power for you amp...etc. Wire is measured in gauges for example 0 gauge is about .5 inches thick and the higher the number of gauge the smaller the wire is...example 12 gauge is a hell of a lot smaller the 0 gauge. A good website that I have always gone to is www.crutchfield.com there is an option under the car audio section called outfit my car. It will tell you exactly how certain radios will fit in the dash and other stuff like that. In most cases they wil include a perfect trim piece and other useful installation accessories. By no means am I saying buy everything from them but it is a good baseline to judge other options off of. Thanks again Baller, makes sense. n8ball2013
you really really do not need speaker wire bigger than 10 gauge 12 gauge and 14 gauge are fairly common as well. 8 gauge is as big as I'd even consider going. J Dubb
One question: Will I need to know what subs I'm getting before I make a cardboard box enclosure (because of the measurements or whateva) to see if it fits?
