if his amp is drawing 200 amps then one run 1/0 is sufficient enough

that's true but if he upgrades to a bigger amp or more amps later he'll be good to go. but as for now with only drawing 200 amps ....... yes one run of 1/0 will do.

No need for all that wiring on a dat2500. A single run of 1/0 would do just fine.

And as for one of your questions. Amp negative to battery negative is best.

over kill ftw! never hurt anything by adding more wire, as long as its done right.

if it were me id lose the fuses but thats me. i would atleast lose one of the fuses on each strand no need for both they add resistance as well
