question on new subs

im thinking about getting two alpine type r's which rms 500 watts each

im going to get the hifonics 1600d which runs

1100 watts @ 2 ohms

& 1600 @ 1 ohm

my question could i run these subs on 1600 watts

or should i just stick with a 1100?

any input would be great

Are you getting the 12s..If you are wanting loud as hell go with something else dont get me wrong the Type Rs are pretty loud but there mostly SQ subs not SPL..but if your determined to get the type rs I would stick with the 1100 watts and heres a link for some really cheap type r 12s

If I was you I would get a FI BL 12..its the same price as 2 type r 12s from sonic and it takes the same amount of power or more if you get it fully loaded and then you can get more money and buy another and be wayyyy louder than the type rs

A fully loaded BL you should be fine but it HAS to be fully loaded

i'd get an audioque HDC3 in this situation. even though that amp is overrated and can only do like 1400rms at 1 ohm at 14.4v EXACTLY, i would be more safe than sorry and get a sub that can handle a buttload of power and take it with no sweat as against to overpowering the other ones. if you dont know what your doing you could easily blow the BL and the Type R's (as also the hdc3's but thats why you tune your gains correctly)

AQ is not $249 shipped. Price is not including shipping. Only the amps. From what I'm reading, I would stick with the AQ. BTL seemed to be power hungry. 1600 watt won't be enough to push it to its potential. The sub is rated at 2000 watt rms.
