fox_racin4
so i picked up 2 18 inch strokers for about 75$ or so one works good other one works but sound slike theres something loose and something inside of it also one of the collars? that are on the pole piece or the stud thing is up higher then the other what happens if i adjust those? Guest
the stud thing i think is to change the pole gap. to either make it tighter or looser giggity and i dont think your supposed to change it unless you know what your doing with it. put a DMM to the coils on the one that has that noise and see what it reads for each coil

Ben Building
$75 would have been a great deal on one of those, but you got two. Something like a slinky inside one? I don't like the sound of that. All subs have a slinky inside; it's called the voice coil. They can sound like that after they come loose from the former. If that was the case, your impedance readings would probably be crazy. Have you hooked it up to see if it works?
fox_racin4
the coils are good i found the one problem the cone is comming apart from the surround the other one also makes a noise but i think its just casue im powering it free air and its mechanical noise Quote 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole
1030tooled
STOP what you are about to do and send them out to be reconed. These subs are not like the subs today. The tolerance on the strokers are very high and if not set correctly the results will be very poor. A recone shop has all the nessary tools and jigs to set them right up. You have some NASTY subs that love to be in a bandpass situation.
