kryptonite Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 to run the subs efficiently, you want to get a monoblock amplifier. These are made specifically for subwoofers and take care of low pass frequencies (LPF) You want to find an amp with a Low Pass Filter on it so you can stop the subs from seeing anything lower than i believe the standard is 25 hz (but any filter is better than nothing). You'll want to take whatever subs you are using and figure out how you'll wire them to the amp. This can be accomplished through several websites that have ohm calculators on them, i use Rockford Fosgate for mine. Than you'll want to sum up the rms ratings of all the subs and find an amp that'll run the ohm rating with the corresponding rms rating. I'm worried that with 4 12's even though, comps, I won't be able to hear the rest of the music when I have it tuned the way I want it without jacking up the mid and high tuning, I'm running a Pioneer DEH-P4000UB. I recently saw a guy on craigslist selling 2 kicker comp 12's in a box [not needed] a Pioneer Premier head unit, and the kicker mono block 400 watt amp all for 250... my only issue is, how much of a dumbass is this guy might be, and did he do something stupid with these subs and that's why he's sellin em, he said he pulled em out his mustang he sold... but yeah... | S-10 | 4.5^3 ft | 33Hz | SAE-1000D @ 1 Ohm | 2 SA-12s | SPL: 143.7 Sealed | 153.4 Port Wars
