ground wire unnattached

I know if a power wire contacts metal it will short. But what about the ground. I left my 1/0 ground connected to my front batt but not connected to the trunk batt. I was redoin some stuff in the trunk when a freak snow storm hit. Could this unattached ground wire cause any issues?

Note: 1/0 power wire between batts isn't connected to either batt.

if you ground out a ground its still a ground, nothing happens

ground out a power line, you just created a short circuit
