LunatikGixxer
ok i figured it out i guess my battery works.. but how do i test my ohms of my woofers? Boon
For batteries turn it to 20 in the V with the dots and lines (DC) section. For your woofers, turn it to 200 in the Ohms (horse-shoe thing, can't be bothered getting alt-code for it) range. Make sure they're disconnected first Quote 10.x volts fo' life! LunatikGixxer
ok i got everything nice. 1.2 ohms on the sub and 12.5 on the batts... Now, Would it be safe to test my volts while the car is on? To measure voltage droppage or am i going to get shocked? Ndnkobra
ok i got everything nice. 1.2 ohms on the sub and 12.5 on the batts... Now, Would it be safe to test my volts while the car is on? To measure voltage droppage or am i going to get shocked? You CAN just stick the leads onto the terminals, but you'd have to set the DMM in a safe spot where you can read it since you'll be using both hands. And be extremely careful when you do this, to avoid getting shocked. What i do is an extra step for safety is i get wire with alligator clips on them and i clip them onto my DMM leads, and then clip the other ends right onto the battery terminals, and then start the car. That way i'm only really going to be holding the DMM itself and not the leads. You'd be surprised on how much those clips actually help Edited January 5, 2010 by Ndnkobra
Boon
You'll have a pretty hard time getting shocked by a car... unless you like playing with HT leads or licking the outputs of your amplifiers... Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
