It's a sealed box but I've tried it with a ported one too. Just wondering why? It's a 4 door car. Guess the trunk act kinda like a box too. It works in coupes, maybe cause the cabin is smaller. I've seen people cut a hole in the plate behind the back seat behind the middle armrest to let in sound. Anyone try this and did it make a big difference? I'd hate to cut the sheet metal for nothing. Any thoughts? This bass can be a mysterious thing sometimes. pa-pa-platypus sorry not everybody has a companies nuts so far down their throat they catch every drop ball sweat when it falls

The sound waves move accross the top of your box, hit yoru back glass and inside your trunk, then bounce back out of phase with the waves that are then coming off your subs. Placing the box in your trunk facing the back is generally the best way to eliminate cancelation/reinforce resonation for a good sound.
