I have read the manual and it states that strapping these amps are stable to 2ohm. Has anyone had any experience trying to strap them at 1ohm? I'm thinking about buying a 2nd one and I don't want to have to worry about having 2 different gain knobs that have to be set exactly the same. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

if you strap the pair at 1 ohms each amp will be seeing .5 ohms, those are only stable down to 1 ohm, so you'd be pushing it. if it were me, I would either change the subs to get the proper load, or to run them strapped at 4 ohms.

Don't think it's possible with those hifonics.

They would see 0.5ohm each, and you need a strong electrical to support the current draw.

And you need to have enough box rise to compensate the low impedance.(but still doesn't garantee that you wouldn't smoke you're amp.)

I understand better now. Is it possible to run the amps seperate and only use 1 gain knob? I'm just thinking about running 2 HCCA's instead of 1. They want 2krms and strapped @ 2ohms both amps together would only be giving me around 3400ish RMS. I also know this amp does a bit under rated so I would more likely be seeing the 3k area.

I'm just wondering because if I run them seperately at 1ohm I would be able to get the RMS power I need out of them, but I dont know how to keep the gains of the amps the same.

The only way to use one gain knob is to strapp them, if you run them seperatley and gain match them, you will have to use a gain knob for each amp...or another option is to get a maxx link, then you could strap them via the max link and the max link comes with a gain/bass knob

when u strap them at 2 ohm it will be 1 ohm

1 ohm will be 0.5

4 ohm will be 2 ohm

Maxxlink may be the way to go for you if you want to keep a single bass knob.

But, you might be able to split that bass knob signal, but you might have to go all McGuyver with a soldering iron and some cable. I think those use a CAT5 wire, right?

Looks like a CAT-5.

I just want to be able to have full 1ohm power out of both of them, and not have to worry about matching gains. If I strap them I will only get 2ohm power, correct? Or will I still get full power from each amp strapped, just a higher Ohm load?

if u do a 2 ohm strap it will be 1 ohm u will get full power out of both

i have looked this up im goin 2 strap 3 (toal) 6 amp

HAHA! This whole time I didnt want to strap because I thought I would only get the 2ohm RMS from each amp if I strapped them! Thanks alot everyone. I'm def. gonna buy another and strap them. Rewiring to a different ohm load will be no problem at all. Thanks alot for clearing up all these questions!
